Extracting Hydrogen From Water to Improve Fuel Economy in Your Car
With gas prices so high, thousands of people are starting to discover the secret of improving their gas mileage by extracting hydrogen from water. This simple home-built system has helped some people as much as double their fuel economy, and can be built using standard, inexpensive parts from the hardware store.
Since pure hydrogen is not readily available, and no major automakers have a commercially available 100% Hydrogen car, you will be using a hydrogen gas derived from the worlds most abundant resource: water. Through a process known as electrolysis, in which an electrical current is passed through a liquid, a special gas is generated known commonly as HHO gas. This gas is a hydrogen and oxygen gas mixture that consists of the same ratio of hydrogen to oxygen as water itself does. The difference is that the molecules are no longer bonded. This is currently the best method of extracting hydrogen from water.
Unlike 100% hydrogen cars, gasoline is still required when using HHO fuel. The idea is not to eliminate gasoline completely, only to supplement it's use. The result is not only better fuel economy, but also cleaner emissions, and in most cases improved power. By extracting hydrogen from water for the purpose of improving fuel economy, you will be able to use less gas everywhere you go. As a result, you'll save quite a bit of money on gasoline, and you won't have to fill up as often.
HHO gas is combustible and after generation can be directed straight into the engine through the air intake. Usually a reservoir of water is mounted somewhere near the engine with two electrodes submerged into the water. The reservoir would have some type of closure that would house the electrolysis wiring, and also outlets for the HHO gas to travel through a tube to the air intake while the system continues extracting hydrogen from water.
The best way to save gas is to find a way to set up your system so that anytime the car is on, the electrolysis begins and the system is automatically extracting hydrogen from water. This way, you never have to worry about turning the system off or on, and there is always an ample supply of HHO gas for the engine to run with improved fuel economy.
If you've never built a system for extracting hydrogen from water to improve your fuel economy, I highly suggest one of the many guides that show you step-by-step how to implement a HHO system in your car. It will save you a lot of time and experimenting compared to going at it alone.
